Two environmental science classes at Marion Graham Collegiate got to learn about nature first-hand, thanks to a SaskOutdoors grant that paid for their transportation to Brightwater EcoCenter, just South of Saskatoon. Brightwater is a rich ecological and historical location that hosts a stream, native prairie, aspen forest, and is culturally significant for local First Nations people. Building on the news Environmental Science 20 curriculum, the group of students learned about the connections between the soil and plants and how such a relatively small location can be so biologically diverse.
