Mossbank School Grant Report
We took two trips to Echo Valley Provincial Park this school year. Both groups camped two nights in the “hole-in the-wall” site. They participated in planning meals, cooking, packing gear, and other necessary preparations for the trip. Students discussed “leave-no-trace” principals and we emphasized that during the trip as well.
Friends of Wascana Marsh
The WOW School Day is organized by the Provincial Capital Commission. It was held at the Habitat Conservation Area in Wascana Centre, Regina on Friday, May 26, from 10:00 to 2:00. Various organizations were asked to provide nature-related stations for the children – Friends of Wascana Marsh was one of those organizations.
Ecole Arthur Pechey School Grant Report
Through our SaskOutdoors grant, we were able to establish an indoor medicine walk in the halls of our school, with additional plants ready to spend the summer outdoors before fall harvesting. We also set up an outdoor adventure wagon which has accompanied classes to the playground, a Pow Wow at a local park, and to Little Red River Park for an outdoor learning field trip! We are looking forward to putting more miles on our wagon, and to harvesting and replanting our medicine plants in the upcoming school year.
