Winter Camp 2014

On December 6th, 2014 twenty adventurous souls from across Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as two particularly brave campers from India and Argentina attended the 2014 SaskOutdoors Winter Camp. Although there wasn’t very much snow, the weather was nearly ideal. In spite of the lack of snow the group scraped together enough snow to make one quinzhee, which was enjoyed by Rod Figueroa and his family. Renewed by Nature’s Colin Frey, wilderness guide and outdoor expert, was on hand to teach campers about winter dress, fire building, winter camping as well as several other outdoor and bushcraft skills. The group was also treated to a skijoring demo and an amazing fire performance by Adam Hering. The weekend was enjoyed by all. The SaskOutdoor’s Winter Camp takes place every year on the first Saturday in December. Don’t miss out on your chance to take part!
