Introduction to Birdwatching

Nature Regina received SaskOutdoors grant funding to support and produce a series of Birdwatching resources for adults and children. They produced a series of short videos in English and French from E.O. Wilson Park in Regina. These 2-3 minute videos discuss how accessible birding can be and some simple ways to introduce children to birdwatching (link to come, see our social media pages for more information).

In addition to the videos, Nature Regina collaborated with Birds Canada to produce a PDF Introductory Guide to Birdwatching as well as a one hour recorded workshop with LeeAnn Latremouille from the Saskatchewan Breeding Bird Atlas (available on YouTube).

Birdwatching is an amazing activity and so much can be learned by doing, watching, and listening! Start small and simple, build your knowledge slowly, learn from experienced birders, and share the joy and delight of birds with young people in your life.
