On behalf of the Kelliher Outdoor Education class I would like to formally send our gratitude your way! We are extremely grateful for all of the opportunities that have been presented to us this year; from winter camping to canoeing and cross country skiing. All of these experiences allowed us to grow as individuals, presenting us with new challenges and the skills to overcome them. Not only did we grow as individuals, we also grew closer as a class. Lots of our trips included teamwork, helping us connect and learn about each other. The 500 dollar grant that you awarded our school for summer camping allowed some of our fundraising efforts to go towards these extra trips. Our summer camping trip on June 5-7, 2023 consisted of 16 students, 2 adults, and 3 very hot days. The grant money helped us provide meals for students in our vulnerable school while on the trip and fuel to get the bus and canoes to our campsite. This trip gave many of our students the opportunity to try canoeing for the first time and utilize the skills we learned with our outdoor guide during winter camping such as fire sticks, knot tying, and fire starting.
