The grant provided by SaskOutdoors (SKO) was used to support a project called Songwriting for Nature, which saw 20 songwriters from across the province take part in a weekend workshop at Camp Kenosee in Moose Mountain Provincial Park on May 30 – June 2, 2019, and then perform original songs inspired by nature at a public show at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum (RSM) on June 27th.SaskOutdoors’ support was publicly acknowledged during the RSM show, which involved all the participants and attracted another ~60 people. Recordings of the songs created through this program, including a beautiful group song called “Higher Ground,” are currently being mastered for inclusion in a popular RSM listening station in the Life Sciences Gallery called “Nature Inspires.”
