Read about the adventure when 23 grade 8 students and 6 adults journey 7,000km to the Yukon. Our ultimate destination and purpose was to provide our students with an understanding into the contested Peel Watershed. They selected the Peel as an area of study that became the focal point of a year-long preparation. While in the Yukon, students dialogued with local Tr’ochek Hwech”in elders and people to gain better understanding of the traditional connection to its lands and waters. The Peel is a very large, untouched watershed and we were able to travel to its southwestern tip to witness and experience its pristine beauty!
