Paddle Canada “Lake Skills” Canoe Certification
SaskOutdoors and BHK Outdoor Experiences are offering a Paddle Canada “Lake Skills” Canoe Certification Course this spring. Join us from 9:00 to 5:00 on May 20, 21 & 22 in Saskatoon.
Experienced Paddle Canada instructors will provide participants with the opportunity to become certified at an intermediate or introductory skill level and will provide instruction in both tandem and solo paddling. Participants are also invited to attend
the 3-day course with the intent of improving their skills without seeking certification.
Intermediate Tandem & Solo certifications are recommended by most outdoor organizations and school divisions for those who intend to lead young people in canoeing programs. This course will emphasize boat control and the necessary paddling skills and knowledge required for safe and enjoyable canoe excursions.
The course will be located at Erindale Lake in John Avant Park near the corner of Kenderdine and Kerr Road (just off McOrmond Road) in Saskatoon. John Avant Park has no facilities, and the nearest public washrooms are located within a five-minute drive.
All canoes, paddles, PFD’s and associated safety gear are included.
Accommodations and meals are not included.
