North Battleford Outdoor Experience

Looking for a fun covid-safe outing during the pandemic. Enjoy a laugh, and winter-themed recreational activities that will help you experience your natural surroundings with fresh eyes. The non-profit organization, SaskOutdoors is pleased to partner with the City of North Battleford and Wildernook Fresh Air Learning to host a guided local outdoor experience for you to enjoy with your bubble. This is an all ages friendly event, but we do invite you to bring your youthful energy!

Note: children must attend with an adult. Consider bringing a sled or carrier for babies and toddlers.

We will be mobile on foot and participants should be able to comfortably walk two kilometres on uneven ground in winter conditions. Make sure to dress warmly in layers including winter boots, toque and face mask to be comfortable outdoors for one hour.

Covid-19 precautions:

We request participants register in their household bubble groups and to submit the names of your group members.

Group sizes will be capped at 10, including the facilitator.  Groups will be departing every half hour from our trailhead to provide space. Please make sure to arrive on time for your experience as you are only permitted to attend the timeslot you registered for. We will provide hand sanitizer at our trailhead and expect participants to wear their facemask and maintain 2 metres of distance from people outside of their bubble for the duration of the walk.  We will be asking screening questions upon arrival, however, please do your part and stay home if you are experiencing any major or minor covid-19 symptoms or have recently come in contact with a positive contact case.

Weather Cancellation Policy:

This event will follow SaskOutdoors Cancellation policy. If the temperature, predicted 48 hours in advance, will be colder than -30C (combined air temperature and wind chill) the event will be cancelled.

Meeting Location:

Park in the Finlayson Island parking lot. We will have a sign marking our meeting spot within 200 metres of the parking lot.  Washroom facilities are not available.
