Prairie Habitat Garden, College of Education, University of Saskatchewan
Nature Journaling Workshop

Attention all nature lovers! For the first time, SaskOutdoors is offering a Nature Journaling workshop on October 1 hosted by Jaylene Murray, environmental educator and land lover.

Nature Journaling offers the opportunity to sit and experience nature and record your observations however you like: through drawing, poetry, writing, photography, self reflection, whatever medium you prefer. The possibilities are endless!

The session will include a brief tutorial on Nature Journaling, some guided reflections to inform your work, and the freedom to spend time in solitude with the land while capturing the experience through your unique lens. This session is suitable to beginners and experts alike, young and mature.

This session is perfect for educators seeking to expand their curriculum and incorporate nature based learning into their classrooms, for busy professionals needing to break the monotony of indoor spaces, for nature lovers keen to explore self reflection, and for newcomers to Saskatoon searching to connect to this land.

Date: Sunday, October 1 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.

Location: Meet at the Prairie Habitat Garden located along the west side of the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Education building. We will then walk along the Meewasin Trail to find our own piece of solitude to sit with the land and reflect. After which we will reconnect as a group to share our experiences and reflections together (if comfortable).

Cost: Members: $10  Non-Members: $15. A notebook and pen will be provided.

Let this unique workshop help guide your Nature Journaling and begin a lifelong practice of self-reflection through land.
