We live in a province with thousands of lakes to enjoy and discover. But we must know how to be safe. Each year SaskOutdoors organizes a Paddle Canada Canoe Training course to teach educators how to safely take a class of students out onto a body of water for an outdoors educational experience.

All courses have set minimum time requirements and prerequisites. Evaluation may include on water testing, written testing as well as oral comprehension checks. On-water and on-shore sessions are often alternated to provide an opportunity for rest, drinks and snacks. Summaries of the courses can be found on paddlecanada.com.

What you Learn

Participants have the opportunity to become certified in introductory, intermediate or advanced skill levels, and will provide instruction in both tandem and solo paddling.

Applied Benefits

Intermediate Tandem & Solo levels are recommended by many school divisions for those who intend to lead students in waterfront programs. This course will emphasise boat control and the necessary skills and knowledge needed to be safe and have fun while on the water.
