Greg Fenty

Greg Fenty - recipient of the 2024 Bernie Melanson Lifetime Achievement Award.

Greg Fenty has dedicated decades to conservation and environmental education, inspiring children, families, and communities to connect with wildlife and habitats. Trained as a wildlife biologist, Greg’s career has included work in the Arctic and years of education and outreach with the Saskatoon Zoo Society.

Now retired, Greg continues to share his passion for nature through the Saskatoon Young Naturalists, a collaboration between the Saskatoon Nature Society and the Saskatoon Zoo Society. From building bird feeders to leading chickadee banding activities, his hands-on approach brings generations closer to the natural world.

Greg is also a committed steward of the Mary Houston Bluebird Trail, where he and volunteers maintain nesting boxes, monitor Bluebird and Tree Swallow populations, and introduce families to citizen science each spring. His lifetime of experience and dedication make him a remarkable leader in wildlife education and conservation.
