Pam Belcher

Pam Belcher - recipient of the 2023 Bernie Melanson Lifetime Achievement Award.
For 15 years, Pam was SES’s Education Coordinator. She retired last year, in 2022. Pam’s favourite part of the job was working directly with students in their project work. This included wide-ranging conversations about climate change and how we can help, as well as support for the many creative and innovative projects students took on.
Connecting students to natural spaces was important in Pam's work. She often suggested outdoor learning experiences to teachers, preparing and adapting activities for the outdoors.
Pam spends much of her spare time outdoors canoeing, gardening, skiing, walking her dog, and she is always collecting inspiration from the natural world. Pam is a talented painter, and her paintings reflect the natural spaces and places where Pam and her family have travelled, walked, canoed, wandered, and lived both in Saskatchewan and abroad. Her art demonstrates an appreciation of outdoor spaces and a keenness to share this appreciation with others. In retirement, Pam is planning on doing more of her favourite things and spending time at her untamed rural property that she and her husband recently purchased.
Congratulations, Pam!
