Grade 6: Our Feathered Friends: The Science of Flight

Students work through many of the outcomes for the Grade Six Science Curriculum area for Flight. The Prairie Learning Centre will come into the class and teach these outcomes in a fun, interactive and engaging way. Students will engage in hands on activities as well as use a learning journal throughout their experience to record facts and information about flight. Within the workshop, students will build a and design two different flying apparatus. They will test and redesign their creations as well as conduct experiments. Students will also learn about the history of flight and the importance of flight in our world today. The PLC in this visit will also engage students in a unique art activity that will offer a permament reminder of the PLC visit! Please ask the PLC manager for more details! Teachers can book a full 2 hour learning experience for the students or an abbreviated 1 hour visit.
