SaskOutdoors is accepting applications for a community liaison student position for 8 weeks of full time employment starting in early July 2022. Applicants must be between 15-30 years old on the start date of employment. Pay for this position will be minimum wage. To be eligible for this Canada Summer Jobs funded position applicants must be eligible to work in Canada, be 15-30 years of age, and be either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have been granted refugee status.

The youth will conduct an environmental scan of outdoor and environmental organizations and initiatives across Saskatchewan including non profits, private businesses, municipal governments and school divisions to create a comprehensive database. The goal of this database is to help SaskOutdoors understand the scope and location of outdoor and environmental education initiatives in Saskatchewan. In addition the youth will complete a literature review of risky play with a specific focus on benefits of each type of play and develop evaluation criteria to understand the impact of SaskOutdoors' work in this area. The youth will have the opportunity to mentor at various outdoor education experiences during the placement to better understand the nature of the work and gain hands-on experience. This position may involve other opportunities and duties to match the skills of the individual and the needs of SaskOutdoors. The selected youth will work remotely using their own home office and equipment.
