Ryan works as an environmental policy analyst for the Ministry of Environment within Regina developing technical standards and legislation with respect to air, land and water. He has worked throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta conducting studies in the areas of ornithology (studying birds), dendrochronology (tree ring dating to study atmospheric conditions) and environmental monitoring/remediation. He recently earned his Master’s in Environmental Systems Engineering at the University of Regina and Imperial College London, UK projecting the future of energy and the effects of climate change within the province and nationally. Ryan has grown up fishing, camping, and hiking which has driven his passion for the outdoors leading to a career within environmental research and management. He has traveled to 13 countries (and counting), explored 24 caves across the UK, and will be backpacking across Northern England (a 309 kilometer coast-to-coast trail) at the end of March.
