Kristen Simonson

Member-at-Large

Kristen grew up on a mixed grain farm in the Swift Current area, and developed a love of the outdoors while spending time in the garden, in the fields, and exploring the native prairie coulees on horseback. This love of nature has led to a career in education where she currently teaches biology, earth science, and environmental science with Chinook School Division, and runs a very active high school outdoor education program at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School. Kristen can also be found leading sessions with the Sage Creek Prairie School and loves reconnecting individuals with the outdoors through a variety of outdoor experiences. In her spare time, Kristen can be found planting in her permaculture food forest and working with her Canadian horses...but you may catch a glimpse of her every so often out on the Churchill enjoying some whitewater canoeing. This prairie girl is happiest when all of her worlds collide and she is able to teach, explore, and share her love of all of the beautiful wild places that Saskatchewan has to offer.
