Wilderness First Aid Course (Standard)

Ancient Spirals Retreat Centre (south of Saskatoon)

This course covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus special material on techniques for wilderness and remote areas. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training. The course is 20 hours. 

The course will be led by Colin Frey, a Wilderness Guide. Colin operates Renewed by Nature from which he runs bushcrafting courses, canoe certification courses, First Aid courses, and guiding experiences.

The minimum age is 16 years. No previous first aid certification is required. 

A minimum of 6 participants is needed to run the course. The course is limited to a maximum of 10 participants.

Please be aware that there is a significant outside component to Wilderness First Aid so expect to spend time outdoors during the course.

Dates: Friday April 13 6-10pm, Saturday April 14 9am-5pm, and Sunday April 15 9am-5pm 

Location: Ancient Spirals Retreat Centre (south of Saskatoon)

Cost: $280 for SaskOutdoors Members and $300 for Non-Members. Visit this page for more information on membership benefits. 

Food: You must provide your own food and drinks. 

Accommodations: Overnight accommodations are available at Ancient Spirals Retreat Centre for Friday and Saturday nights. The cost is $25/person. If you require this, please select this option when registering.
