Please note: the October 14th program will be THE SAME as the October 21st program.  We will visit a new location on October 28th! Please only sign up for one session as we have a tonne of families interested in this program and we want as many as possible to be able to participate.

Times: 10 am to noon

On October 14th and October 21st we’ll learn all about water - what is a watershed and why is it important, the history of the McKell Wascana Conservation Park and this conservation easements impact as a pothole wetland, how it supports migration and bird habitat along with pond dipping!

WUQWATR will be joining us to teach us about the Wascana & Upper Qu'Appelle Watershed that covers 23,445 square kilometres and accounts for 20% of Saskatchewan's water source.

We'll also provide pond dipping supplies including buckets, nets and pond dipping identification guides. Along with volunteers to help you identify what you are finding!

Information will be emailed to all registered participants the day before each event. This will include the starting point for your family group as we can only have a maximum of 30 people in one location at once to ensure COVID 19 safety.

Registration is limited and upon arrival all family groups will be rotated between stations to ensure adequate physical distancing and space.

When registering you must agree to the following: "I will follow the COVID 19 health and safety guidelines which include hand sanitizing as necessary, wearing a mask when a 6 foot distance cannot be maintained and practicing social distancing of 6 feet as much as possible. Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided by the event organizers. Please bring your own if you have them. We are hoping that a 6 feet distance can be maintained throughout the whole session so that masking will not be necessary."
