Family Friendly Summer Ecotour
Aug 4, 2017 - Aug 6, 2017
SaskOutdoors would like to invite you to our Family Friendly Summer Ecotour to the north end of Last Mountain Lake. It is a free program but we encourage you to become a SaskOutdoors member.
Please register so we have an idea of numbers. We have organized the programming, and you cover the costs of your food & accommodations & travel.
This would be a great experience for first time campers!
Meet at Nokomis campground for the welcome. Families will arrive at different times so supper will be on own. Nokomis has two restauraunts, or you could do a camp meal. Our board member Karen McIver will be there to greet families and will have a big pot of meat chilli on if families want to have a potluck at 6:00 pm (let us know if you would rather vegetarian).
Camping in Nokomis Campground or if camping isn't your thing you can check out accommodations in Watrous & Manitou Beach about 30 minute drive.
9:00 - 9:30 am - Meet at Last Mountain Lake National Wildlife Area headquarters.
9:30 am - Morning hike in Last Mountain Lake National Wildlife Area by interpreter Alex Dunleavy. Alex will provide some history of the area and activities for kids while we do a hike.

1:30 pm - Guided hike and talk about the Last Mountain Bird Observatory by Marla Anderson from Nature Saskatchewan. We will also do some Geocaching!

Regional park swim times on Aug 5 & 6 are 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
